HELP! Pirate costume
HELP!
I’m going to a fancy-dress party tonight with a pirate theme and have no idea what to wear.
How do I dress like a pirate? Should I just give in and go as a wench? I have a full skirt and a corset-ish top I could turn into a wench costume, but pirates were way cooler!
Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hmm…here’s what I can come up with on the fly:
-Men’s white dress shirt half-unbuttoned–the sleeves should balloon out. Put a belt around it.
-knee-high boots–got any knickers? Even if you don’t, you can tuck in a pair of black slacks in there.
-you gotta have a scarf or bandanna around the head, best if red.
-make a quick eye patch–cut out a piece of cardboard, color it black (or glue black fabric over it, tie elastics or string on each side so that it goes around your head.
If you have a fake knife or sword, that’d be great to complete the look, but I think the above should be enough.

oops…I meant a belt around the waist, not the sleeves. As for the scarf/bandanna, cover up all your hair with it.
I think it’d be nice to put in a single small gold hoop earring, if you have pierced ears.
OOOOOOOh I can’t believe that I didn’t see this until NOW! I went to a pirate themed party on Saturday night, the 16th! How BIZARRE is that?!
